Golf Out of Control
He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation." Mark 16:15
Golf is played in over 25 different countries in our world.  Furthermore, if a person (anywhere) plays golf, then they need help getting better.  Golf is a universally frustrating game!  Now if we follow this logic further we realize that if a person cares about golf then they have a high likelihood of at least listening to a professional teacher.  If that teacher can help them play better golf then who knows what else they will be willing to learn!

In June of 2009 we put this theory to the test by embarking on a golf teaching mission trip all the way around the world to the country of Thailand.  Thailand is a country of avid golfers, but is a country with less than 1 percent of the population being Christian.

What an incredible journey!  We were originally scheduled for 4 clinics in the 10 days we were there; BUT as word spread we ended up hosting 10 clinics.  The golf lessons combined with lessons from the bible generated tons of questions and interest.  It broke down some status barriers as well.  Some men there were very influential and as such would never really talk to someone of a "lower status" (like a poor pastor).  However, when the pastor was with me and the golf entourage - everyone spoke to everyone.  It was incredible in more ways than I can mention and we're still hearing about fruit that was produced in those short 10 days.
