"You can't teach an old dog new tricks." "I'm too old to change my swing." "I don't care how I play; I just play for fun anyway." Bla, bla, bla......
We've all heard it before and worse than that we have fallen to the lie that it might be true!
I have taught golfers of all ages for close to 25 years. In that time plenty of adults have gotten ridiculously better at this crazy sport. But the bible is (as always) exactly right when it tells us that it all begins (and ends) in our minds. Once you learn that golf really isn't all about muscle memory, mechanics or even buying the latest expensive equipment (pattern of this world) you'll be amazed at how much better you can get through these simple (yet powerful) concepts and drills.
And on the biblical side of the equation; maybe (as it was for me) a mind change is appropriate as well. I can't speak for anyone else; but for me some 8 years ago I went through a massive mind change and life has never been the same since! Something to think about - Maybe Christianity isn't all about "being good", going to church on Sunday, memorizing scripture, etc.... (pattern of this world) No more than "proper mechanics" are all there is to golf.
We will stop theorizing because along with the golf drills that I give you I will challenge you to DO (not memorize) some drills from the worlds greatest teacher, Jesus Christ. For believers, this is a program that will help grow your faith by challenging you to take action on it. For the non-believer, if (and you don't have to) you decide to try some of these drills then I hope that by going to the source (Jesus' lessons) you might see a different side of Christianity other than the sinful, judgemental, hypocritical side that we Christians too often project. Instead of judging the teacher by his students, go to the source and then decide for yourself.
